Dr. McGroarty (Dr. M) has been in the educational field for over 10 years both within the K-12 environment and collegiate level teaching. He currently holds a Doctorate in Education from Walden University, a Master's of Science in Educational Leadership from Creighton University, a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah in Human Development and Family Studies.
Before coming to Northwest Middle, Dr. McGroarty worked at Juan Diego Catholic High School teaching courses in Programming, AP Computer Science, Game and Web Development, and Robotics/Coding. Additionally, he has taught at Westminster College as an Adjunct Professor in their Education Department teaching courses in Technology for Educators. Other professional experience includes working for Northrop Grumman as a Business Analyst and completing Paramedic coursework as a medical professional at Gold Cross Ambulance.
In his spare time, Dr. McGroarty has been involved within the musical arts as a performing member of such groups as the Salt Lake Vocal Artists and Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Additionally, he as been active in other community-based organizations such as the Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America.
