Natalie began her teaching career 30 years ago as a middle school Art teacher. She taught in Brisbane, Northern Territory, and Perth, Australia, for thirteen years. She spent the last three years teaching at Monument Valley High School in the Navajo Nation. She is the secretary for CTSA Utah and on the Utah Art Education Association Board over awards. One of her passions is advocating for teachers as the Hope Street Fellow 2021-2023, KnowledgeWorks Fellow 2022-23 and she was just selected as a 2024 UEA Policy Ambassador. She received her BA at Southern Utah University, her MEd in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Queensland (Australia), and she’s just completed her second Master of Education in Education Policy at Southern Utah University. She is endorsed in Secondary Art Education, ELL, FACs, Public Speaking, and Education Technology. She's been working on her Gifted & Talented Endorsement and Social Studies Composite Endorsement for the past three years. Her thesis is Culturally Responsive Education: Teaching Art in the Navajo Nation using Norman Rockwell's Four Freedoms Re-imagine. In her spare time, she loves doing art. One of her favorite mediums is printmaking because it's an art that keeps giving. She also loves to travel worldwide, collecting pieces that symbolize the Tree of Life. "One fun thing about me is that if someone gives me a challenge, I find it hard to turn it down. Saying "yes" got me into a few interesting experiences in life.
